Late-night commuters London were left confused the other night when they spotted a rather old-looking engineering train speeding through Bank station.
The footage, filmed on April 6 shows the engineering train running on the tracks late on the Central Line.
“The Central line was closed during the day so I think they were doing some works at Leyton and only part of the Tube was open so I think they were just cleaning up the mess, but it was late and everyone on the platform was so confused,” the filmer told Newsflare.
In fact, the trains pass through more often than you might think.
Mayoral body Transport for London explained that the trains are used every night - except on lines where the night tube is running.
“This is an engineering train, they are used during the night for engineering works to move any materials needed to maintain the lines and stations, and does not hold any passengers on board and nor is it an old train,” a Transport for London spokesman said.
