Prop 8 in Plain English

is is not an "anti-gay" campaign. This is the move of the courts against all of the people, and the voice of the people to put those judges back into their constitutional straightjacket by putting into the California State Constitution a few sentences upheld in 2000 by the people, which was overturned by the court this year. At stake is religious freedom. Can a minister be forced to marry a same sex couple if it is against his beliefs? Absolutely if this proposition is not passed. Such couples have all the legal rights and benefits now that "married" couples do, this is a critical issue for freedom of speech, as ministers in Canada already are fined and jailed for reading passages of the bible that might speak of "sin" that some today would rather not hear.
