This is the shocking moment a Buddhist monk repeatedly kicks a disabled man in the head - for playing with his son.

Phra Sathit, 38, was seen on CCTV wearing orange robes as he chased the victim, Nok, 30, and punched him in the head.

The monk knocked the mentally handicapped man to the ground then kicked him in the head four times before frog-marching him back into the wooden hut.

Nok’s outraged mother complained about the attack at the temple in Samut Prakan, Thailand, on April 8, and the monk was dragged in for questioning.

He told Buddhist officials that he attacked Nok after he was ‘’too rough’’ when he had been playing with his six-year-old son earlier in the day.

He said: ‘’My son will ordain as a monk in the summer and he was hurt by the way that he was playing with him. I was angry and couldn’t control myself.’’

Nok’s mother agreed not to pursue the case against the monk if he transferred to a different temple away from the area.

Phra Sathit has now been moved 50 miles away to a religious building in Chonburi province in eastern Thailand.

The abbot, Phra Adisak, who disciplined the attacker, said: ‘’The young novice monk admitted what happened based on what we saw in the CCTV clip. He said he had a short temper and apologised.

‘’He has been a monk for two years now and done a lot of good work constantly renovating the temple. But this was unacceptable and he has agreed to leave.’’

The incident was later reported to police in the Phra Pradaeng District who said today they would investigate it after it received attention in local media.
