Film director John Singleton has died at age 51. He was on life support after suffering a stroke on April 17. Singleton was the first black filmmaker nominated for the best director Oscar for the 1991 film “Boyz n the Hood.” He later directed films “Poetic Justice and Higher Learning” and also co-created for the FX Network show “Snowfall.” Fans and celebrities posted tributes for the director on social media.
