This is live music at its best. From the Jam perform a small medley of Jam songs. "All Mod Cons" and "To Be Someone (Didn't We Have a Nice Time)"
"All Mod Cons" was originally the title track from The Jam's album released in 1978. The title is a British idiom you might find in housing advertisements. It means "all modern conveniences" and is a pun on the band's association with the Mod revival. The lyrics of this song criticise fickle people who attach themselves to people who enjoy success and leave them once it's over.
"To Be Someone (Didn't We Have a Nice Time)" originally featured on the album "All Mod Cons" which was released in 1978. This song has been seen to be about living for fame and then losing it all.
This performance comes from the "From the Jam - A 1st Class Return" concert Live at the Forum in December 2007. From the Jam kick off at full speed, each one complimenting the other and the material as fresh as when it was at the top of the UK Charts! They turned a chilly night in North London into a rhythm inferno, and in doing so, rewrite modern world anthems for the 21st century!
From the Jam line up:
Bruce Foxton - Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar and Vocals.
Rick Buckler - Drums.
Russell Hastings - Lead Vocals, Guitar and Acoustic Guitar.
Dave Moore - Guitar, Bass, Keyboards and Backing Vocals.
