Deadly shootout and five-hour standoff in Los Angeles, USA results in suspect arrest

A man suspected of being involved in a downtown Los Angeles double-shooting on May 27 was arrested after a deadly shootout in the early hours of May 28.

The suspect led officers on a pursuit through downtown L.A., into South L.A. and onto the 105 Freeway then north on the 405 before exiting at Culver City and careening into the Del Ray area. The pursuit ended with the suspect allegedly smashing into a parked vehicle before breaking into a home where a family was sleeping.

The suspect was then arrested following a more than five-hour standoff.

The suspect is reported to have been apprehended at around 6 a.m. on May 28 after LAPD SWAT fired tear gas into the Del Rey home where the suspect had been barricaded inside.

Footage shows GVs of the police and police cordon in Del Rey. The filmer also captures a police helicopter circling above the crime scene. The police talk to civilians in their cars as they approach the police cordon.

The filmer also captures the large number of police and emergency services who attended the crime scene.
