A Manhattan building under construction and slated for demolition partially collapsed on West 53rd Street on Sunday (June 9) around noon.
A large portion of the building, including the brick facade, fell onto and destroyed the scaffolding over the popular local fruit and vegetable market, Stiles. Fortunately the market had been closed for about a week, according to neighbors.
No injuries were reported and all workers at the scene were accounted for.
