Documentary about the television series "Good Times," which aired on CBS from 1974 to 1979. By combining humor with social criticism, "Good Times" expanded the horizons of television and showcased a new interpretation of the black American family -- one that actually included a father. The sitcom hit like "dyn-o-mite." Audiences -- both black and white -- welcomed the Evans family into their homes and cast member Jimmie Walker became an instant star. However, tension built as the rest of the cast -- including venerable actors Esther Rolle and John Amos -- suddenly found themselves and the series overshadowed by Walker.
