근대 회화 병풍 2점, 문화재 최초로 해외 영구 반출 허가

The Cultural Heritage Administration has allowed the permanent transfer of cultural heritage to a foreign country for the first time.
Two folding screens made during the 19th and 20th century called Cheakgado and Yeonhwado have been sold to the National Gallery of Victoria in Australia and will be added to their list of exhibits.
In principle, transferring cultural heritage overseas is prohibited.
But the Korean government can give approval if foreign government-approved museums are transferring the piece for an exhibition.
The government allowed the transfer as the two folding screens will have greater value abroad since there are many similar artifacts already in Korea.
