Emmett Till Series to Air on ABC Emmett Till was a 14-year-old African American who was murdered in 1955. After being accused of inappropriately speaking
to a white woman, he was abducted from his home,
beaten, shot in the head and dumped in a river. His death was a pivotal moment
for the Civil Rights Movement. Smith and Hov's series will
chronicle the story of Till's mother,
Mamie Till-Mobley. Her story, following the murder
of her son, will be part of the series,
'Women of the Movement.' The series will highlight
various women who contributed
to the Civil Rights Movement. It is not yet known when
the series will air on ABC.
