N. Korean leader "not happy" with S. Korea-U.S. joint exercises: Trump

While denuclearization talks have once again stalled between Pyeongyang and Washington, U.S. President Donald Trump received another letter from North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Kim said he's "not happy" with the South Korea-U.S. joint exercises.

Another friendly letter from North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to U.S. President Trump amid series of missile tests.
Speaking to reporters at the White House on Friday, Trump announced that he received a "very beautiful and personal letter" from Kim.
"He really wrote a beautiful three-page -- I mean, right from top to bottom -- a really beautiful letter. And, maybe I'll release the results of the letter but it was a really positive letter."
In the letter, Kim expressed dissatisfaction over the joint military exercises between South Korea and the U.S.
"He talked about what he's doing. He's not happy with the testing. It's a very small testing that we did but he wasn't happy with the testing. He put that in the letter."
Trump added that he is also not happy with the exercises, because he has to pay for them.
Meeting at the inter-Korean border on June 30th, Kim and Trump agreed to begin working-level denuclearization talks within July, but no such talks have been held as North Korea remained unresponsive to the U.S. proposal on having talks.
In the meantime, North Korea has taken aim at South Korea for holding joint military exercises with the U.S., calling them an apparent "war rehearsals."
Expressing its discontent, in a little over the space of two weeks, Pyeongyang has conducted five test-fires of short-range projectiles.
Trump downplayed the tests... and added he could have another meeting with Kim.
"I think we'll have another meeting. In the meantime, I say it again. There have been no nuclear tests. The missile tests have all been short range, no ballistic missile tests, no long range missile."
Regarding the recent trade spat between South Korea and Japan after Tokyo decided to take Seoul off its whitelist of preferential trading partners,... Trump said... he's concerned the two countries are fighting with each other... adding that they have to get along.
