Simon & Garfunkel's swinging '60's soundtrack hit given a funky groove treatment from Billy Paul, a really original and uniquely styled singer, who was probably closest to the finger snappin', jazzcat style of Sammy Davis Jr, but 100 times more soulful.
One massive hit; "Me & Mrs. Jones" then a long slide to obscuresville, mostly due to bad release choices from his record label and an equally long ride on the cocaine express.
Taken from his 1970 Lounge Jazz album; "Ebony Woman" which features a very jazzy version of Sly & The Family Stones "Everyday People", The Associations "Windy" and some other hit pop pic ks of the day.
