Sixteen-year-old Inga is the only hearing member of a deaf family living in the remote Latvian countryside. Since the age of seven, Inga has acted as the interpreter between her family and the hearing world. This role has forced Inga to grow up quickly, and her personality fluctuates between that of a responsible young woman to a typically moody teenager.ore than just a personal portrait of Inga, the film is about generational conflict, hearing versus not hearing, inequality and rural isolation, availability of education and problems caused by people's inability to tolerate those who are different.
