MANILA -- Four surviving passengers of the sunken 2GO passenger vessel M/V St. Thomas Aquinas were invited by the Special Board of Marine Inquiry (SBMI) for the investigation into the ship's collision with Sulpicio Express Siete in Cebu last August 16. The survivors said no one from the crew assisted them when the vessel started to sink following the collision. They also complained that life jackets were not located near their beds, prompting others to jump into the water without life vests. The death toll from the Cebu ferry tragedy now stands at 80 while 40 others remain missing. ANC Dateline Philippines, August 24, 2013
