MANILA - The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Reserve Force Command lamented that their services were not sought when typhoon "Yolanda" hit Eastern Visayas last month. According to AFP RESCOM, its technical and medical units were already prepared to be deployed to Visayas on the third day of the typhoon's aftermath. The AFP has about 430,000 reservists. "Sana naman eh bago dumating ang mga galing sa ibang bansa eh nakarating tayo," said Brig. Gen. Quirino Calonzo. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, for its part, said the transportation of relief goods had to be prioritized over the ferrying of the reservists. – report from Anthony Taberna, ABS-CBN News
