MANILA - The University of the Philippines is replacing the Socialized Tuition and Financial Assistance Program (STFAP) with a new system that is more responsive to the needs of students. UP vice-president for public affairs Prospero de Vera said the new system took 3 years to finalize and approve. He said that under the new system, bracketing was adjusted due to inflation. "Merong ibang mga studyante na bababa ang babayaran ng tuition," he told radio DZMM. He also said UP increased the monthly stipends of students under bracket E2. He said the new system will be implemented for incoming freshmen this June 2014. RADIO DZMM, December 23, 2014
