Congress fares poorly in corruption survey

MANILA - The Senate and the House of Representatives fared poorly in a corruption survey after the pork barrel scandal hogged the headlines. On the other hand, the justice department and the Supreme Court received favorable scores. A Social Weather Stations survey conducted from July 31 to November 29 last year showed 56 percent of respondents perceive a lot of corruption in government institutions, a slight increase from the 43 percent in 2012.
