EMBED FROM NEWSCUTTER: Piolo_party MANILA – Piolo Pascual turned emotional during the thanksgiving party of his movie “Starting Over Again” on Tuesday, admitting he almost gave up on his career. When it was his turn to take the stage to thank the people behind the success of the Star Cinema movie, Pascual suddenly became teary-eyed, revealing that he thought of quitting showbiz until this project turned out to be a blockbuster hit. Addressing the ABS-CBN executives in particular, Pascual said: “I was seriously considering quitting this year pero when the movie became a big hit, I said the joke is on me. I guess hindi pa po time para umalis ako sa showbiz.” “Thank you for always being there para sabihin sa akin na huwag akong tanga at huwag ko isipin na umalis kasi hindi ko talaga alam. This was hard for me. Inayos ko na ang buhay ko. I was ready to settle down in the States. This could be my last. Maraming salamat sa tiwala kasi hindi ko talaga alam na aabot ako dito,” he added. Three weeks since it was released in theaters, Pascual’s first big screen team-up with Toni Gonzaga already earned P375 million. Saying this is his biggest movie to date, Pascual said he is still in awe as to how people supported “Starting Over Again.” “Nung lumabas na ganun ang kita ng pelikula, hindi talaga ako makapaniwala because back during my time, maka P100 million ka lang okay ka na. For the movie to make more than a hundred million in four days, it was really overwhelming for me. I never thought na it would still happen,” he said. Saying he chooses to just trust God’s plan for him, Pascual said: “Kasi roller coaster ang pinagdaanan ko. Kumbaga binigay ko na lang kasi for me, hindi ko na alam kung saan ako pupulutin after nito. Hindi naman na ako bata. With my team-up wih Tin, quota na ako.”
