Security plans announced ahead of Boston Marathon

New security measures will be in place for this year’s Boston Marathon. Some 3,500 police officers will line the route, and spectators are being asked to carry their belongings in clear plastic bags. The race is scheduled to take place on April 21. Law enforcement officials have been meeting to discuss security plans after last year’s double bombing near the finish line. The attack killed three people and injured more than 260. -- Mornings @ ANC, March 11, 2014.
