MMDA to open 6th Pasig Ferry station

MANILA -- The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is gearing up for the inauguration of the sixth station of the Pasig River Ferry Service. Following the completion of its repairs, MMDA is scheduled to formally open Friday morning the new Sta. Ana station in Manila. MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino is expected to lead the ceremony while representatives from the Department of Transportation and Communications are expected to attend. MMDA said that the opening of the Sta. Ana station will greatly benefit passengers going to and from Paco, San Andres and Guadalupe. Relaunched last April 28, the Pasig Ferry Service was completed in cooperation with the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission. Eight other stations were previously inaugurated by MMDA during the said relaunch namely, Guadalupe in Makati City; Pinagbuhatan in Pasig City and; Escolta, PUP Sta. Mesa and Plaza Mexico in Manila. From the Sta. Ana station, MMDA will charge a minimum fare of P20 from those who will go to Guadalupe and PUP. The Pasig River Ferry Service is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
