Eleven killed, four missing after typhoon Mitag hit S. Korea

Typhoon Mitag left devastation in its wake as making landfall on the Korean Peninsula on Tuesday.
Many parts of the nation were hit hard by Mitag,... leaving 11 people dead from landslides and flooding.

Typhoon Mitag brought record-breaking precipitation as it passed over Korea.
The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarter said it is maintaining its disaster alert status at its second highest level as of 5 PM on Friday,... as recovery efforts are still underway.
As of 4:30 PM on Friday, 11 deaths have been reported,... while 4 others are missing and 11 are injured.
But the numbers are expected to rise,... given the possibility that some people might still be trapped inside collapsed buildings.
Casualties were mostly caused by flooding and landslides.
Among the dead, three people were killed due to a landslide in the southeastern port city of Busan.
Under the mud and debris,... the body of a 70-year-old female was found about 26 hours later.
The body of her husband and the remains of a 65-year-old female restaurant owner were also found on Thursday.
A 59-year-old in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province was also found dead under a home that had collapsed.
Roughly 1000 people from 600 households are taking emergency shelter and some 3-thousand 6-hundred private and public facilities were damaged during the typhoon.
More than 48-thousand homes have experienced power outages, which have been mostly restored.
The government is focusing on the search for the missing victims... and other recovery efforts are also ongoing.
