South Korea and the United States have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen financing for infrastructure projects.
South Korea's Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki and U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said the MOU reaffirms the strong alliance between Seoul and Washington.
The MOU is expected to support infrastructure development in Latin America and ASEAN countries through private investment and provide growth opportunities for both countries.
During their meeting, Minister Hong also addressed the need for a resolution to Japan's export curbs on Korea and called for an exemption of possible Section 232 tariffs on Korea's auto exports to the U.S.
