The Hyderabadi #DoubleKaMeetha / #BreadHalwa is a traditional Hyderabadi dessert prepared with bread, which derives its name from ‘Double Roti’, a term used for bread during the British era. This Indian version of bread pudding showcases the deliciousness of bread when it absorbs the richness of milk and cream and is flavored with dry fruits and spices. Serve Hyderabadi Double Ka Meetha Recipe (Traditional Indian Bread Pudding) as a dessert after a meal.

Ingredients:

Bread – 10 slices
Ghee/ Oil - Dee Fry
Milk - 500 ml
Khoya - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 250 grams
Almond – 10
Cashew nuts – 15
Pistachios -10
Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp

Method:
1. In a deep pan or vessel add two cups of milk and boil them in a medium flame.
2. Cut the bread slices to tiny pieces. it is optional that you can cut the sides of the slices (Brown color portion).
3. Heat Kadai or a heavy-bottomed pan with ghee. Reserve 2 tbsp of ghee for later use. Fry cashew nuts on low flame and keep aside then Fry almond pieces also and keep aside.
4. In the same Kadai add some more ghee and add the bread slices roast until slices turn to golden brown color.
5. Heat Non-Stick Kadai and add Sugar and then add an equal amount of water to the sugar. After adding one spoon of cardamom powder and mix well.
6. Now add boiled milk and bread slices.
7. Cook for 3-5 minutes until bread absorbs the milk and sugar syrup.
8. Garnish with roast dry fruits and serve to all your lovely family members.
