Human rights group Amnesty International said on Tuesday that at least 106 protesters in 21 cities are estimated to have been killed by security forces, adding the real death toll may even reach two-hundred.
The organization demanded Iranian authorities "end such a brutal and deadly crackdown and immediately show respect for human life."
The demonstrations followed Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's announcement last week that the price of a liter of regular gasoline would be increased by 50 percent to around 13 cents.
