OK COMPLETED THE GAME AAAAND UHHHHHHHH-
THISGAMEFU KINSUCKS
ONE THING I THOUGHT WAS THE CASE EARLY ON WAS THAT THE SAME DEVS OF SOULSBORNE MADE THIS (WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN A DISAPPOINTMENT) BUT IT TURNS OUT IT'S A SHAMELESS BITEOFF chi ese/k ean PEPOWL-TYPE STEAL AND THE SAME FLAWS (MINOR IN THEIR CASE) THAT THEY HAD WITH THE CAMERA ANGLING GETTING TOO CLOSE AND ALL OVER THE PLACE IS SOMETHING THEY DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO FIX BUT INSTEAD AMPLIFIED
STORYLINE WAS COMPLETE BORING GARBAGE
6.6 OUT OF 10
DOWNGRADE-
THEY'RE TRYING TO PLAGIARIZE OFF SOULSBORNE (IN THIS CASE SMOUGH & ORNSTEIN) BUT THE FIREPITS AS SOON AS ATTACKING THE BLADE LADY? THAT'S LAZY DEVELOPMENT
SIMILARLY THE WAY HEALING TAKES LONGER THAN AN ENEMY ATTACKING IS SLOPPY DEVELOPMENT!!
THIS WAS A STRONG YEAR OF GAMING SO IT'S FAIR TO SAY ALREADY THAT THIS GAME IS 'BELOW AVERAGE' BUT WHAT I REALLY WANT TO SAY IT IS NOT EVEN CLOSE-TO 'THE WORST GAME OF 2019' WHICH IS modern warfare (2019)
THAT SAID, I HAD LOW EXPECTATIONS BC THE REVIEWS WERE POOR AND WHILE SO FAR IT'S STILL CLOSER TO THE BEGINNING I CONSIDER CODE VEIN A 'WATERED-DOWN AND SLOPPY MINI-VERSION OF SOULSBORNE (DARK SOULS III REMAINS MY #1 GAME OF ALL TIME)
THE THING I FIND A BIT OF A PROBLEM IS THAT WITHOUT THE NPC ALLY THE GAME BECOMES RIDICULOUSLY DIFFICULT AND TIME-CONSUMING, AND WITH THE NPC MOST OF THE TIME YOU FIND URSELF JUST EVADING ATTACKS AND WAITING FOR THE NPC TO DO THE KILLING
STORYLINE IS VERY LAME AND I'M NOT PAYING ANY ATTENTION!
