A couple were lucky to be alive after a driver nodded off at the wheel and smashed into their street food stand.
Thitiphan Phisitkul, 35, and his wife, Salita, 35, were serving noodles outside their home on Monday night (December 9) when the black pickup truck came hurtling towards them.
CCTV shows how the terrified pair were flung backwards when the vehicle clattered into their stand in Chaing Mai, northern Thailand.
The couple picked themselves up and confronted the female driver who allegedly admitted that the had fallen asleep at the wheel just before the crash at 11:24 pm.
Thitiphan said: "We were preparing bowls of noodles for customers that night and car smashed into the stand. Both of us jumped out of the way but our noodle stand was wrecked.
''My partner aslo hurt her hip in the accident so she needed to go to the hospital to be checked. Accidents happen but I hope people will take more care.''
Police Lieutenant Colonel Tinnakorn Khamprawit said the driver was heading back home when she fell asleep at the wheel.
He said: "The driver admitted she had fallen asleep and been driving dangerously. She agreed to pay for all of the damages and the medical bills.''
