THE SLAVERY OF ORGANIZED RELIGION
(LIVING INTO AN INFINITE UNIVERSE part II )
"Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and the body in hell" [Mathew,10:28].
Throughout history we see that some enslaved peoples of antiquity had parallel experiences in their interactions with gods and deities. The ancient civilizations produced religions suitable for those stages of history. Mosaic doctrine helped the Jews to survive in those times of slavery and war. The Jewish people, once divided by their belief in several gods, regained unity under the faith of one, single god, a concept which Moses spoke for and imposed. The God which Moses advocated is an intolerant character; a god of terror and atrocities, a partaker of wars and crimes. "There is no god besides me. When I sharpen my flashing sword and my hand grasps it in judgment, I will take vengeance on my adversaries and repay those who hate me. I will make my arrows drunk with blood, while my sword devours flesh: the blood of the slain and the captives, the heads of the enemy leaders" [Deuteronomy: 32-39, 41, 42].
