Jimin’s Solo Track ‘Promise’ Hits
200 Million Streams on Soundcloud “Promise,” a song by Jimin of K-pop band BTS,
has officially hit a new milestone on SoundCloud. On Jan. 27, the song
surpassed 200 million
total streams. It is now the fifth most-streamed
song of all time on SoundCloud. Fans took to Twitter to celebrate
Jimin's achievement, trending the
hashtag #PromisebyJimin200M worldwide. Jimin's song was originally
released in December 2018. At the time, it achieved the record for the
biggest-ever song debut on the platform with
8.5 million streams in the first 24 hours. He surpassed Drake’s single,
“Duddly Freestyle,” which previously held
the record with 4.9 million streams in 24 hours. “Promise” also became the most-streamed song by
any Korean artist in the history of SoundCloud in
February 2019 when it surpassed 100 million streams.
