This guide has been published in response to the need of the medical professionals. It accommodates the medicines officially approved by the National Board for Drug Selection and are registered in Iraq. The first such guide was published in 1990 and has never been revised or reprinted. The current guide reflects a major change in the structure and organization from the one published before, where the monographs are organized alphabetically and not as therapeutic categories. The medicines included in this guide were of the updated national list as of 1/1/2016 and the registration list 25/5/2015. The authors are planning to reproduce this guide periodically depending on the registration of new medicines in Iraq.
