Gucci presented a women's wear collection for autumn/winter 2020/21 in an unusual setting, presenting the backstage area as well as the catwalk, to kick off Milan Fashion Week on Wednesday.

Viewers could see through a transparent wall into a backstage area which was brought to the centre of the room.

They watched how makeup was applied and the models were helped into their dresses, before they walked before the public to the tune of Maurice Ravel's "Bolero."

Some of the models wore romantic, frilly dresses and others were clad in more masculine outfits.

Five years ago, Gucci's creative director Alessandro Michele decided to ignore every form of style and gender limits, and pledged to bring a new dynamic to fashion everywhere.
