Jim Nabors Comedy Hour Sketch/The Brothers-In-Law
Jim Nabors, the twangy, rural comedian of The Andy Griffith Show and Gomer Pyle -- U.S.M.C., surprised everyone when in the mid-1960s he opened his mouth and began to sing. His voice was a rich baritone, and he proceedd to make quite a splash in the record field with several best-selling LPs.
After Gomer Pyle had run its course, his versatility earned him this Thursday night variety hour. With him were two of his former co-stars from Gomer Pyle, Frank Sutton and Ronnie Schell. There were also guest stars, comedy sketches, and musical numbers on the show.
One continuing comedy sketch was "The Brother-in-Law," in which Karen Morrow played Jim's sister and Frank Sutton her husband. Frank's role was that of a self-centered, insecure neurotic trying to cope with what he perceived as a hostile world.
