Setahun setelah kesuksesan album perdana ‘Birunya Cintaku’ (Agustus 1985), Helen Sparingga merilis album keduanya ‘Semerah Duka Di Hati’ pada September 1986. Masih dengan formula yang sama, sebuah album dengan lagu-lagu manis dan mudah dinikmati. Yang unik dari album ini, lagu-lagu karya produser JK Records yang juga seorang penulis lagu Judhi Kristiantho mendominasi di album ini. Selain lagu unggulan yang ditulisnya bersama Maxie Mamiri, Judhi juga menulis 3 lagu lainnya. Salah satunya ‘Kecewa’ yang mengisi track nomor 10 di album ini.
