The Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff says he should not have joined President Trump and other administration officials for a photograph in front of a church near the White House that was recently damaged during violent protests.
In an address at the National Defense University on Thursday, General Mark Milley said it was a mistake as the military should not engage in domestic politics.
He said he learned from his error of judgment and other military officers should as well.
