A 'rotating funnel cloud' was spotted swirling through Oregon on Saturday evening (June 13).

Local man Mike Bodd captured rare footage of the weather event from Happy Valley.

Forecasters said the tornado formed at about 6:30 p.m. east of Happy Valley and caused minor destruction, including toppled trees and damaged roofs.

The National Weather Service in Portland later confirmed it was a tornado with a maximum speed of 75 mph.

According to local media, the area doesn’t get many tornados but when they do occur, they are often the weakest classification.
