A Wyoming resident shows how his "partially artificial" heart can be seen beating through a scar left on his chest from surgery.

Phil Pankau, 37, films his chest revealing the beating motion created by a mechanical valve and explains how he got it.

Pankau, from Cheyenne, told Newsflare: "I underwent the surgery at 16 (I'm 37 now) to replace a bicuspid aortic valve that was causing a heart murmur and when that quite literally disintegrated at age 31 I had a mechanical aortic valve and an artificial aortic root put in.

"That causes the heart to beat harder than normal (which causes me to feel it pounding constantly and hear the valve tick) which you can see all the time through my chest scar."
