A bridge collapsed in Nepal on Friday (July 10th) during floods which have killed at least 40 people.

The metal road bridge was torn down by the powerful river torrents close to the Beni - Jomsom - Sadak Road running alongside the Kali Gandaki River in the Tiplyang district.

Officials said that thousands of people in western Nepal have been displaced by the floods and landslides caused by heavy rain.

District administrator Gyan Nath Dhakal said at least 20 people were killed and at least 13 others were missing in the Myagdi district.
