The Chinese mainland reported 22 new coronavirus infections on July 19, 2020, with 17 of the cases domestically transmitted in the country’s western Xinjiang Uygur  autonomous region. The spike in Covid-19 cases followed the case of a 24-year-old woman who tested positive for the coronavirus on July 15.
