Australia's last Boeing 747 departs Sydney after a ceremony marking the model's nearly five decades of flying for the national carrier Qantas. The model's retirement was brought forward after the coronavirus pandemic crippled global travel.

"It will be bittersweet because of that amazing history, because of what this aircraft has done to change the aviation industry. What it's done to change Qantas, what it's done to change Australia," says Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce.
