Government blocks South Africans who no longer pay tax in SA

Government has released a new draft of the Tax Laws Amendment Bill. It seeks to prevent South Africans who no longer pay tax here from withdrawing retirement funds. This until they can prove non-tax residency for an uninterrupted period of three years or longer. The funds include, pension preservation, provident preservation, and retirement annuities. According to the National Treasury and the South African Revenue Service, the bill will come into effect in March next year.
