The Vision is a prayerfully compiled exploration of David Wilkerson's prophecies about the world and church’s future. While the American church has received very little persecution historically, David foresees a coming time when believers in the US will no longer be immune in part5, and he discusses some of the following signs:
• The church embraces homosexuality and occult practices
• Major media companies and leaders will mock belief in God
• The government will begin to tax churches and Christian organizations
However, David also predicts that the church will rise in Asia and Eastern Europe, and many Christians there will experience freedom from persecution at long last. God’s Word will spread like fire through those nations at the beginning of a new spiritual awakening.
This is The Vision, written by the late David Wilkerson in 1974. When it was first published, the prophecies Wilkerson wrote about were unthinkable. Sadly, in the twenty-first century, these prophecies now read like old news headlines.

David Wilkerson was called to New York City in 1958 to minister to gang members and drug addicts, as told in the best-selling book The Cross and the Switchblade. He went on to create Teen Challenge and World Challenge, Inc. to minister to people’s spiritual and physical needs.
In 1987, he established Times Square Church. As its founding pastor, he faithfully led this congregation, delivering powerful biblical messages that encourage righteous living and complete reliance on God.
David Wilkerson also had a strong burden to encourage his #pastors. He founded the Summit International School of Ministry; and from 1999 to 2008, he held international conferences to strengthen church leaders.
His passion to support believers and build up leaders is still at the heart of World Challenge’s ministries to this day.
