Jackie Chan falls into the water during filming and disappears below the surface for almost a minute. Legendary Hong Kong actor Chan, 66, said he nearly drowned while filming a jet ski scene for his new action movie ‘Vanguard’, he revealed at a recent press conference in the Chinese capital Beijing. Mr Chan, who is starring alongside Miya Muqi and Yang Yang, was seen falling into a fast-moving river and disappearing underwater as frantic crew members tried to locate him. The heart-stopping incident brought director Stanley Tong, who has worked with Mr Chan on five other movies, to tears. ‘Vanguard’ is the latest film project between Chan and longtime collaborator Tong since they started to work together in the early 1990s. Chan quipped: “You need fight to survive when you are in the hands of Tong, it's not easy!” The ‘Rush Hour’ star said that he was trapped by a rock after falling into the water and was unable to free himself for a while, fearing briefly that he might drown there. Chan added that he quietly told himself: “Jackie, don't panic!” The actor revealed that the incident replayed in his mind later that evening: “When I took a shower later that night and remembered the incident, I suddenly felt really scared and started shaking.
