Mom and Son Rescue Drowning Seagull

This guy and his mom discovered a drowning seagull from the driveway. They hopped on their paddleboard and wrapped the bird into a cloth to get them on the land. The duo figured out that the bird had swallowed a fish that was still hooked to a fishing rod, and its weight caused them to drown. They carefully removed it from the bird's mouth with the help of pliers and released them back into the wild as they seemed fine, after the procedure.

00:00Today, my mom and I saw a seagull that was struggling in the water, so of course,
00:03I hopped on my paddleboard and went right over to see if there was anything I could do.
00:07It looked like the seagull was having a hard time keeping his head out of the water,
00:10so upon closer look, I realized the seagull had swallowed a fishing hook,
00:14but what's on the other end of the line is scary.
00:18Pulling it up, there was a two-ounce weight still attached, and this.
00:22The entire fishing pole was attached and pulling the seagull's head under the water,
00:27nearly drowning him.
00:29I covered him up and brought him right into shore.
00:32My mom and I used pliers to hold his mouth open as well as to remove the hook.
00:36It took us about 20 to 25 minutes to get the entire hook out
00:40and make it as painless as possible for the bird.
00:42After that, the bird was released right back into the wild.
00:47He was a little shooken up, it looked like, and he had no clue what just happened,
00:50but in the end, he chilled for a little bit, got his energy back, and flew right away.
