Virtual numbers are the new security challenge in Kashmir with terror groups using this method to connect with their handlers in Pakistan. The Spresding of this new technology was found in 2019 after the Pulwama terror attack revealed the JeM suicide bomber had used this mechanism to connect. Security agencies in the Valley are searching for ways to tackle this growing modus operandi.
