Krishna Thaba, who was working as a security guard at the estate bungalow of the former chief minister Jayalalithaa at the time of the crime. Recently he left the bungalow and went to his native village in Nepal and since then, has gone elsewhere for a job as police stated.

Krishna Thaba was working as a security guard at the Kodanad Estate where he was attacked by a group of 11 men who were trying to enter the bungalow to steal money and valuables from the property. On the other side, another security guard, Om Bahadur was killed by the gang.
