Hong Kong Protests: The residents and citizens of Hong Kong have come on to the city streets in protest against an extradition bill that is being pushed in the city-state’s parliament by the political leader Carrie Lam. The bill would allow both residents of Hong Kong and visitors alike, to be sent to Mainland China for trials. The protest against the bill has snowballed into a larger protest of a call against China’s tactics to control the city. Protest organisers said around 2 million people joined the march on June 16, exceeding last week's 1.03 million.
