On November 10, 2020, the think tank Digital New Deal and the international association aNewGovernance have partnered to organize a live webinar on the topic of data portability, the exchange of personal data, the model of separation of powers and the need for governance.
More information about the webinar:
In February 2020, the European Commission unveiled its data strategy, culminating in the creation of an infrastructure for the free flow of personal data under the control of individuals.
Following this announcement, Digital New Deal has published "Personal Data Sharing: Governance as a Game Changer". This publication is an invitation to collaboratively consider the creation of common technical standards for this new infrastructure for the free flow of personal data under the strict control of individuals. The governance system proposed in the report is based on the principle of separation of powers.
The webinar is especially interesting for policy makers, regulators, and more broadly the European data circulation ecosystem.
Louis Magnes, project manager at Digital New Deal, has presented the report. The panel discussion has been moderated by Eric Pol, Chairman of aNewGovernance, with:
- Eric Bothorel --> Member of the French National Assembly and co-chair of the Assembly’s study group on Data & Artificial Intelligence
- Dr. Milan Petković --> Head of the Data Science department at Philips, and Vice President of the Big Data Value Association
- Jaana Sinipuro --> Project Director, IHAN - Human-driven data economy, Sitra (Finnish Innovation Fund)
- Renaud Vedel --> Coordinator for the French National AI Strategy
--------
- Digital New Deal is a think tank aiming to create a third digital way: an enlightened, European, and humanistic Internet.
- aNewGovernance initiative gathers members of the data ecosystem globally to support the creation of a public private governance body for personal data sharing.
