சென்னையில் தொடரும் கனமழை..செம்பராம்பாக்கம் ஏரி Dam-ன் நிலை என்ன?

சென்னை புறநகரில் தொடர் மழை பெய்து வருவதால் வீடுகளை வெள்ளம் சூழ்ந்துள்ளது. சென்னையை சுற்றியுள்ள 14 ஏரிகள் நிரம்பிவிட்டதால் அடையாற்றில் வெள்ளப்பெருக்கு ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.

சென்னை மற்றும் புறநகர் பகுதியில் நேற்று முன்தினம் இரவு முதல் பெய்த மழையால் செம்பரம்பாக்கம் ஏரியின் நீர்மட்டம் 21 அடியை தாண்டி உள்ளது. 22 அடியை இன்று மாலைக்குள் எட்டினால் உபரி திறக்கப்படும் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது. தற்போது நீர் பிடிப்பு பகுதியில் மழை குறைந்ததால் நீர்வரத்து குறைந்துள்ளது. பாதுகாப்பு ஏற்பாடுகள் சிறப்பாக செய்யப்பட்டு உள்ளதாக பொதுப்பணித் துறையினர் விளக்கம் அளித்துள்ளனர்.

14 lakes in Chennai Moffussil areas were filled with rain water and they are overflowing to residential areas. People are suffering from flood water.

The water level of Sembarambakkam Lake has crossed 21 feet due to heavy rains in Chennai and suburbs since last night. The surplus is expected to open by 22 feet by this evening. Currently the water level in the catchment area is low due to low rainfall. The public works department explained that security arrangements had been made well.
