Rohit is yet to fully recover from the hamstring injury, Rohit was ruled out of the first two Tests and given the 14-day mandatory quarantine rule in Australia, it’s unlikely that he will be able to feature in the remaining two tests. It was widely speculated why Rohit did not travel directly to Australia with the rest of the team which would have allowed him to participate in the four-match Test series after his recovery. As reported by renowned sports journalist Boria Majumdar, Rohit returned to Mumbai from UAE to see his father – who had contracted the Covid-19.
