A nice house in an American suburb: This is where the Tanner family lives. Father Willie is an employee and enthusiastic radio amateur. Mother Kate takes care of the household and children Lynn and Brian. One day, after many failures, Willie finally receives a signal from space, and shortly afterward a mini-spaceship falls directly onto the garage roof of the Tanners.
