After a Muslim suicide bomber attack whilst on duty in Afghanistan, soldier Nick (Jonas Armstrong) returns home with half of his face terribly scarred. His family and schoolteacher girlfriend Gemma (Emily Beecham) are horrified, but try to act normally for his sake.
